Cebu Province is known as the "Queen of the South" because of the picturesque region and the unique Carribean landscape. The earthTV camera is located on top of the Shangri-La hotel on Mactan Island a tourism and business hub of the region.

Mactan Island combines a coastal resort landscape with historical sites including the Lapu-Lapu Monument at Mactan Shrine. Across the channel, Cebu City adds wider-area landmarks such as Magellan’s Cross and Fort San Pedro. These separate places connect the island’s beach setting with the region’s layered maritime history.
