Asia invites exploration at many scales, from the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok to the mountains around Dali and the seafront at Muscat. earthTV’s perspectives on Asia offer a starting point in these distinctive settings. Waterways, civic landmarks and mountain landscapes each help explain something about the places that have grown around them.

Finding a route into Asia

Water brings several destinations into focus. Bangkok’s riverside connects the Thai capital with the Chao Phraya; Hong Kong’s Victoria Harbour sits between major parts of the city. In Oman, Muttrah’s harbour and corniche give Muscat a coastal character. The shared presence of water leads to very different local stories.

Architecture opens further possibilities. Udaipur’s City Palace belongs to the setting of Lake Pichola, while Phnom Penh’s Royal Palace introduces Cambodia through a ceremonial landmark. Doha’s Katara Cultural Village gathers performance spaces and architecture beside the coast. Each provides a specific subject through which a destination can become more familiar.
